Schloss Kochberg ist ein kleiner Diamant im Herzen von Thüringen und ist mit seinen schönen Räumlichkeiten und dem weitläufigen Park heute mehr als nur eine Goethe-Gedenkstätte.
Im Schloss wird in mehreren Räumen mit Orginal Möbeln und Kunstgegenständen aus dem Nachlass von Charlotte von Stein an die zahlreichen Besuche von Johann Wolfgang von Goethe bei Charlotte erinnert.
Der Herzog Moritz ließ sich 1542 vor den Toren Dresdens ein Jagdschloss errichten und nach ihm ist auch dieses wunderschöne Wasserschloss benannt, das sicher das schönste seiner Art in Sachsen ist.
Man sollte sich nicht den Spaziergang durch den weitläufigen Park zum Fasanenschlösschen mit seinem kleinen Hafen und dem Leuchtturm entgehen lassen.
Das Schloß Machern mit seinem angrenzenden herrlichen Park ist ein Kleinod in der Umgebung von Wurzen. Es finden regelmäßig kulturelle Veranstaltungen wie Theater und Konzerte statt.
Das Schloss Machern ist auch durch das in der historischen Ritterstube befindliche Standesamt bekannt geworden, was ihm auch den Hauch eines romantischen Hochzeitsschlosses gibt.
Das gewaltige Bauwerk der Veste Coburg mit ihren dicken Mauern und hohen Türmen liegt fast 200 m über der Stadt. Man kann von der Veste aus weit in das Umland schauen und die Burganlage ist auch weithin sichtbar.
